I have made a short academic comic about teaching comics with the help of Matt Madden. His 99 Ways to Tell a Story is read in every comics class I teach. Why? Because it truly demonstrates the versatility of comics and introduces students to genres and approaches that they were not aware of. Most of my students are not comics readers, so this is a quick way to get their brains going and inspire them to explore further.
